Marita Sario
My work reflects my interest in transculturality and anthropophagy (term referred to the Brazilian movement), which mixes elements from different cultures, both native and immigrant.
I study ancient cultures and their changes reflected in the cultural objects -whether utilitarian or religious- produced at different times and places.
Materials find me or I search for them; I usually try different options until I choose those that best suit my purpose.
Art jewelry is, for me, a means to think of art in relation to our bodies. The human dimension completes the meaning of my work.
