My jewels were meant to the individual body, now they are for the social body.
In a common space, the street, Argentina, or any place in the world where people come together and meet to denounce, make visible and confront the injustices of a system that favors a few. Pain is a weapon that bends and paralyzes.
Leather as skin hurt by rubber bullets, the skin of the collective. Skin-soul that hurts.
The Rings of Anger arise as a first reaction, as if removing fingernails. Then the Resistance Glove, a self-contained blow. There is reflection in that gesture, to resist until finding another means of confrontation.
They are solitary jewels, waiting to react together with others. Jewels that together empower and transform into links.
The Links are leather-skinned objects with a soul inside: a handkerchief from Mothers of The Plaza de Mayo. They are held between their hands, arms intertwined, people interwoven, strengthened from pain.
THE LINKS OF RESISTANCE ARE THE AWAKENING OF THE SKIN OF THE SOCIAL BODY.
